Table of Contents    About Author    Brochure

In Colorado Family Law Deskbook with Forms the authors explain the law on a wide variety of family law procedures—everything from commencing different kinds of family law actions to enforcing court orders. They discuss in detail the legal processes and procedures for dissolving marriages, establishing and enforcing parenting plans, resolving child support and custody issues, handling paternity actions, and other matters pertaining to Colorado family law. Discussions are supported with ample citations to relevant Colorado law, and the material is presented in a way that follows the chronology of family law cases.

The authors also share with you the wealth of forms they developed over the years at The Harris Law Firm—forms that have withstood the test of time! These forms will help you develop your own forms library or enhance your existing one, saving you time by ensuring that your forms are up-to-date and in compliance with Colorado law. The forms are presented on the CD as word processing files, allowing you to insert your own legal arguments and add or modify text to reflect the facts of each case.

Whether you are an experienced family law practitioner or new to the field, Colorado Family Law Deskbook with Forms will help you:

  • Prepare the documents necessary to get a case underway.
  • Respond to a petition and summons in divorce, custody, paternity, and other domestic relations frays.
  • Prepare for the Initial Status Conference.
  • Establish temporary orders to preserve the status quo while the action proceeds toward final orders.
  • Use court-appointed experts to investigate child and family situations and to help preserve the best interests of children.
  • Conduct additional discovery and use court-appointed or independent experts to value the marital estate.
  • Craft a good separation agreement.
  • Enact and enforce the provisions of final orders or the separation agreement.
