Leonard Matheo and Lisa L. DeCaro are the founders of Courtroom Performance, Inc. (CPI), a trial consulting firm dedicated to improving oral advocacy and the visual presentation of evidence. Professional actors and directors, each has over 15 years of experience in professional theater, film, and television. Ms. DeCaro and Mr. Matheo have helped thousands of attorneys and their witnesses prepare for deposition and trial, by employing the professional actor’s techniques of effective story analysis, story structure, and persuasive presentation.

Ms. DeCaro and Mr. Matheo are active members of the American Society of Trial Consultants and the Association for Continuing Legal Education. Both are frequent speakers at regional seminars and national conventions (including the annual conference of the ABA Litigation Leadership Section and many state bar programs), and have served as faculty for colleges and conferences nationwide (including UCLA Law School and the University of Colorado School of Law). Ms. DeCaro and Mr. Matheo have also authored popular papers and articles for national legal publications (including ALI-ABA’s Practical Litigator, ABA’s Tips from the Trenches, and The Brief.)
